The SICK IME18-08BPSZC0S is an industrial inductive proximity sensor designed for reliable, non-contact detection of metallic objects in automated machinery and industrial applications. It detects the presence of metal without requiring physical contact, helping reduce mechanical wear and supporting consistent machine operation.

Featuring an 8 mm nominal sensing range, this sensor is suitable for detecting metal components, monitoring machine positions and identifying the presence of moving metallic parts. Its cylindrical M18 threaded housing supports straightforward installation, while its flush-mounting design allows integration into compatible metal mounting arrangements.

The sensor uses a PNP, normally open (NO) switching output with a DC three-wire electrical connection. When a suitable metallic target enters its sensing field, the sensor changes its output state to provide a detection signal to a compatible PLC, controller or automation system. This enables dependable object detection and position monitoring in production equipment.

Designed for demanding industrial environments, the IME series sensor features a nickel-plated brass housing and an IP67 enclosure rating for protection against dust and temporary water immersion under specified test conditions. Its M12 four-pin male connector supports convenient electrical connection, while a switching frequency of up to 1,000 Hz enables detection of rapidly moving objects.
