SICK GL10-R3712 – Photoelectric Sensor

The SICK GL10-R3712 (Part No. 1065897) is a compact industrial photoelectric retro-reflective sensor designed for reliable object detection in automated production and material handling systems. It operates by emitting a visible red light beam towards a reflector and detecting the light reflected back to the sensor. When an object interrupts the light beam, the sensor switches its output to indicate the presence of the object. This makes it suitable for non-contact detection of products, packages, components and materials moving along conveyor systems.

The sensor features a dual-lens optical system designed for applications requiring a minimum distance to the reflector. Its PinPoint LED light source produces a visible red light at a wavelength of 625 nm, helping provide a clearly defined light spot for straightforward alignment and reliable detection. Depending on the reflector used, the sensor offers a maximum sensing range of up to 15 metres.

The GL10-R3712 includes an electrically isolated SPDT relay switching output, supporting flexible integration with industrial control circuits. Its broad supply voltage range of 24 V AC/DC to 240 V AC/DC allows use in a variety of industrial installations. The sensor provides a response time of 10 ms and a switching frequency of up to 20 Hz.

With compact dimensions of 20 × 50 × 51.5 mm, an IP67-rated enclosure and an operating temperature range of −30 °C to +60 °C, the GL10-R3712 is suitable for demanding industrial environments. The supplied mounting bracket and P250 reflector help simplify installation.
